The 2026 KS Legislative & Advocacy Conference will be delivered as a live, in-person event at the Mater Dei Event Center on March 4, with an afternoon spent at the Kansas State Capitol networking with legislators.
The KS Legislative and Advocacy Conference is designed to increase awareness of the political process for all nurses and nursing students in Kansas. The event will focus on the power and importance of advocacy, provide a glimpse into a day in the life of a nurse legislator, discussion on the Kansas State Nurses Association's key legislative priorities, and a special guest speaker from ANA sharing the importance of advocacy at the federal and state levels.
Please make note of the delivery format and location changes for this event.
This year's event will be held live, in-person at the Mater Dei Event Center located at 1114 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka, KS with the afternoon spent at the State Capitol.
AGENDA
The March 4 program will begin at 9:00 am with a guest speaker from ANA and other advocacy leaders on the importance of advocacy, followed by lunch for all attendees. Light breakfast items will be provided prior to the opening session.
Attendees will then head to the Capitol after lunch and spend the afternoon visiting with legislators, monitoring the floor debate, hearings, etc. Attendees will return to the event center for a wrap up/next steps presentation before adjourning at 4:00 pm.

Can't Attend In-Person? We are also offering a live, virtual viewing option for those who are unable to join us in Topeka. The registration fees are the same, but nursing contact hours will not be provided for the afternoon session. Be sure to address the question about your attendance format during the registration process.
Groups/Schools - please note, all students, faculty and members of your group viewing the live morning sessions must be registered for the conference. It is not permissible for one member of the group to register and share the viewing room with others who have not registered.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Pre-registration is required for participation in the event.
We offer two ways to register – 1) as an individual and 2) as a group or school.
The deadline to register is February 13, 2026. No registrations accepted after February 13, 2026.
Individual RegistrationIndividuals seeking to participate and register on their own, not with a school or group, may register online.

Group & School RegistrationSchools of nursing and specialty groups seeking to participate in the event together as a group have two registration options. Groups of 20 people or less may register online. Groups of 20 or more must register using the Group Registration Form and corresponding Group Payment Form below. Online registration is not an option. See instructions below:

Larger Groups of 20 or morePlease complete the Group/School Registration List and corresponding Group/School Payment Form below. Both forms are required.
The Group/School Payment Form will ask you to identify the total number of students versus faculty participating along with payment information.
The Group/School Registration List will ask you to identify each individual in your group by first and last name, address, email address, type of registrant (KSNA Member, Non-Member, or Student), dietary restrictions and if each registrant will be attending in-person or virtually.
Please submit both forms to our office for processing. We will communicate details about registration and the event to the individual identified as the faculty/group liaison on the forms.
