Kate Burns

Kate Burns has worked as an Organizational Development Consultant with Stormont Vail for just over two years and serves on Stormont Vail’s IDEA Committee. Kate is proud of the work being done to help build a healthcare system inclusive and welcoming to all. Her interest in DEI initiatives began when she worked as an EEO & Title IX Investigator at a large Midwestern university where she also served as the Training Coordinator in attempt to mitigate instances of harassment, discrimination, and sexual violence. Though the work is always evolving and never complete, Kate loves being part of the IDEA committee where she gets to engage with some of the most well-rounded, passionate team members at Stormont Vail!

Laura graduated from Ottawa University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Prior to joining Stormont Vail in 2017, Laura was responsible for consumer driven product health insurance analytics for the State of Kansas. As the ninja of analytics, Laura provides real time interpretation of the statistics delivered to Stormont Vail through surveys. This position is responsible for finding patterns and trends in healthcare data, working with directors to address negative trends, and developing reports and presentations to communicate analytics. Laura provides insight to staff through data that assists in delivering optimal healthcare management, data transparency and process improvement. In addition to providing monthly, quarterly and annual organizational data, Laura is available to work directly with departments throughout the organization to develop and implement custom reporting to address specific needs.
